1.).Verizon wants you to think that the wireless network is somehow separate from everything else. Those calls get routed through the PSTN (public switched telephone network) built & maintained by union workers just like landline calls do.
2.) Verizon wants you to think we are on strike because they want us to pay a little of our healthcare costs. The lengthy list of things they want to take back includes pensions, wages, holidays, sick time, vacation, education, etc…
3.) Verizon wants you to think that cell phone calls are their only money maker. It’s not, Verizon gets billions from their data circuits (from ds0 to OC192 level). This keeps Wall Street, hospitals, banks, airports, police, government and firehouses etc… up and running. How about FIOS? According to their annual report, it is growing very well, and very profitable. There are also POTs (plain old telephone svc.) lines still out there making money.
4.) When Verizon talks to Wall Street about their business they play up what strong performers their “ landline ” side of the business is , but now at contract time they want the public to think we are given jobs out of the goodness of the company’s heart. By Verizon’s annual reports admission :

-We need to get the truth out there by all means because the 5 second news bite is not doing justice to what is being fought for or done to the working class.
